{"id":3448,"date":"2010-03-31T10:22:21","date_gmt":"2010-03-31T10:22:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rajapack.co.uk\/blog-uk\/?p=124"},"modified":"2010-03-31T10:22:21","modified_gmt":"2010-03-31T10:22:21","slug":"ms-leads-way-in-easter-egg-packaging-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rajapack.co.uk\/blog-uk\/ms-leads-way-in-easter-egg-packaging-2","title":{"rendered":"M&#038;S leads way in Easter egg packaging"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Marks &amp; Spencer has led the way for sustainable packaging for Easter products as it has launched its range with 20 per cent less packaging than last year.<\/p>\n<p>For its best-selling product, Molly Moo chocolate cow, it has achieved an 80 per cent reduction by transferring a cardboard and plastic mould packaging to a plastic film, saving six tonnes of waste.<\/p>\n<p>The department store has said that 83 per cent of its produce for Easter is recyclable and 63 per cent is made from sustainable resources, including FSC-certified cardboard.<\/p>\n<p>Head of packaging at M&amp;S Helene Roberts, told Packaging News: &#8220;We\u2019ve worked hard this year to find some clever ways to reduce the packaging while still creating a range of eggs that our customers will be proud to give \u2013 and of course, they taste great too.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This comes as part of the store\u2019s Plan A environmental goals.
