Since 1970, Earth Day has been about a growing awareness of the negative consequences of pollution and environmental deterioration. Since then, millions of people have participated in a variety of worldwide activities and projects aimed at raising environmental awareness and advocating for sustainable practices. This yearly commemoration emphasises the interdependence of all life on Earth, as well as the importance of addressing environmental challenges swiftly.<\/p>\n

We here at RAJA UK have always been passionate about our goal of being a leader in the packaging world for eco conscious plans and actions. That’s why this year for Earth Day 2024, we’ve made a point this time to not just suggest things that can help you and your business get greener. We’ve also shown how we’ve practiced what we preach too!<\/p>\n

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Adopting the “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle\u201d, the 3 R\u2019s\u00a0 philosophy reduces pollution while conserving resources. Make the use of recyclable things a primary priority, engage actively in recycling activities, and decrease your reliance on single-use plastic. An example of this, we here at RAJA UK by 18th<\/sup> March 2024 have eliminated 34,025 single-used plastic bottles by the use\u00a0 of our water refiling machines. We’ve set these up so refillable water bottles are easily refilled and show our staff how much plastic they’ve saved as an incentive. We’ve spoken before also about Waste Minimisation<\/a> and would encourage everyone to have a quick read through and see what steps they can take for a greener world.<\/p>\n

Save Energy<\/h2>\n

Reducing energy consumption by turning off lights and electrical devices when not in use is another way to help the planet. Both by purchasing energy-efficient equipment, and using renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power. We always try to do both and in 2023, 29.40% of our waste was converted to energy.<\/p>\n

More eco travel<\/h2>\n

To reduce carbon emissions, use sustainable means of transportation wherever feasible, such as walking, cycling, commuting, and public transit. Consider switching to an electric or hybrid car for further environmental benefits. At RAJA UK, we encourage car pooling and have electric charging points to make electric vehicles more feasible – as electric cars become more commonplace and the market begins to grow<\/a>, providing charging points can be a great way to encourage a more eco approach.<\/p>\n

Eco-Friendly packaging<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

One of the choices most near and dear to our heart – one of the best ways our customers in particular can boost their eco credentials is to select items that are sustainably sourced, organic, and ecologically friendly. Look for eco-certifications and you can of course check out our comprehensive eco-product range<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Continuing Education and Advocacy<\/h2>\n

It can help to stay current on environmental problems and push for policies that encourage conservation and sustainability. Share your expertise and thoughts with coworkers, family, and community members to promote good change. We try and do our part to help encourage education as a way to improve habits, with articles like How important is it to buy Eco products?<\/a> as well as this one itself (of course).<\/p>\n

We can all help to create a greener, more sustainable society by adopting sustainable practices, advocating for environmental regulations, and supporting conservation-focused institutions.
