We&#8217;re always working to improve our CSR activities and offer customers the most sustainably sound packaging choices. And this award ceremony gave us the opportunity to present our innovative solutions to a panel of impartial judges and see how we fared in the wider sector. We entered ourselves in two categories and we had one of our CSR heroes Philip Price making an entry after his appearance at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rajapack.co.uk\/blog-uk\/raja-and-the-gbn-venture-day-2024\">GBN venture day<\/a>,\u00a0 Philip has been our champion for the environment for years so it&#8217;s only fitting we entered him into the Environmental Champion award. Alongside this, we entered two products into the packaging projects category to see if we could land a win.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rajapack.co.uk\/blog-uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/EPA2024-Gold-Winners-Logo-GreenCircle.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5327 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rajapack.co.uk\/blog-uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/EPA2024-Gold-Winners-Logo-GreenCircle-1004x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"357\" height=\"364\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rajapack.co.uk\/blog-uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/EPA2024-Gold-Winners-Logo-GreenCircle-1004x1024.jpg 1004w, https:\/\/www.rajapack.co.uk\/blog-uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/EPA2024-Gold-Winners-Logo-GreenCircle-422x430.jpg 422w, https:\/\/www.rajapack.co.uk\/blog-uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/EPA2024-Gold-Winners-Logo-GreenCircle-768x783.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.rajapack.co.uk\/blog-uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/EPA2024-Gold-Winners-Logo-GreenCircle-1506x1536.jpg 1506w, https:\/\/www.rajapack.co.uk\/blog-uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/EPA2024-Gold-Winners-Logo-GreenCircle.jpg 1907w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 357px) 100vw, 357px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>What products did we enter and why?<\/h2>\n<p>The two products we entered were our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rajapack.co.uk\/protective-packaging\/chilled-packaging\/climapack-insulated-paper-chilled-packaging-solution_OFF_UK_01047.html\">Climapack<\/a> kit and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rajapack.co.uk\/protective-packaging\/chilled-packaging\/ranpak-recycold-climaliner-insulated-thermal-box-liner_OFF_UK_00927.html\">Climaliner<\/a> double layer insulation paper. We chose these because they represent the best of our coldchain offering being both extremely recyclable and highly effective at insulating in a food safe and sustainable way. The Climaliner&#8217;s unique honeycomb pattern and paper structure makes for a recyclable but effective way to keep products cool in transit. Our Climapack kit is entirely paper based and kerbside recyclable consisting of a recyclable box and two sheets of climaliner paper. Compared to EPS boxes, our climapack box stayed cool for an additional 3 hours. 35 hours of insulation VS 32 hours for the EPS box. We are the first to market with this brilliant solution for thermal packaging and we&#8217;re proud of the result.. Our customers are fans of it too, just check out this testimonial from All Week!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CwbW7JjQaOM?si=9zjmSqSQE12pD37l\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Once we&#8217;d been accepted, all that was left was the judging.<\/p>\n<h2>What are the Environmental Packaging Awards?<\/h2>\n<p>As you&#8217;d expect, the Environmental Packaging Awards does what it says on the tin. The Environmental Packaging Awards celebrate innovations and individuals who make a real impact on sustainability. The awards programme has an impartial judging panel of experts to ensure the integrity of the results both from a submission and ruling point of view. The judges consisted of industry specialists including Jude Allan, Paldeep Bhatti and Margaret Bates who we&#8217;ve talked about back in <a href=\"\/blog-uk\/whats-new-in-csr-this-january-2024\">January<\/a>. With stiff competition from some of the top environmental packaging brands out there, we had our fingers crossed throughout the ceremony.<\/p>\n<h2>Did we win?<\/h2>\n<p>You betcha! When asked for comment, Jude Allan had this to say<span class=\"ui-provider a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z ab ac ae af ag ah ai aj ak\" dir=\"ltr\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span class=\"ui-provider a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z ab ac ae af ag ah ai aj ak\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201c<i>It was great to see Rajapack winning Gold. It was such a beautifully simple, easy to use and effective solution. The simplicity of the design is the thing that cuts through but don&#8217;t underestimate the complexities of designing, creating, developing and testing the product.<strong>&#8220;<\/strong><\/i><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Despite making it all the way to the shortlist of just 6 of the best environmental champions in the UK, Philip Price didn&#8217;t secure a personal award.
