Sam Crosby-Browne
Sam Crosby-Browne is Senior Category Manager for packaging tapes, protective packaging and pallet wrap at RAJAPACK UK - the UK arm of Europe's largest B2B packaging supplier. He owns the range, supplier relationships and technical specification across three categories that touch almost every shipment leaving a British warehouse.
Sam holds the CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement & Supply and brings 12 years of B2B category management experience to the role. Before joining RAJAPACK, he spent eight years at RS Components managing industrial categories for engineering and MRO buyers, and two years at Next working on sourcing for one of the UK's largest multi-channel retailers. That mix, industrial distribution, retail logistics, and now packaging, gives him a working view of how different operations actually consume and fail packaging in the real world.
His work covers the practical end of the category. That means evaluating new tape adhesives against real carton stock and warehouse temperatures, working with manufacturers on stretch film formulations, benchmarking RAJAPACK's own-brand performance against branded equivalents on the line, and reviewing damaged-in-transit returns to identify where the packaging actually gave up.
Sam writes for the RAJAPACK blog because most online packaging content treats every operation the same. A 25mm hand-wrap setup has different problems to a semi-automated case sealing line. A high-throughput e-commerce DC has different problems to a small manufacturer shipping a hundred pallets a week. The advice has to match the operation.
