For short production runs
Hacona C-Type Impulse Heat Sealers (C420-C820)
The Hacona C-Type table-top heat sealers are easy to operate and need minimal workspace, making them suitable for a wide range of packaging applications across production, order fulfilment and office environments. Simply connect to a standard 230V power supply and they are ready to use.
Safe, efficient impulse sealing
Every C-Type sealer works on the impulse sealing principle: the sealing wire heats only while the sealing bar is closed. This ensures maximum operator safety and maximum energy efficiency, with no constant heat and no wasted power between seals.
Choose the right size for your application
The C-Type range is available in four sealing bar lengths, from 420mm to 820mm, so you can match the machine to your packaging needs. For smaller bags, the compact C420 offers the most space-saving solution. If you work with a variety of bag sizes, the C820 provides the greatest flexibility, sealing everything from small to large bags on a single machine.
Seal narrow and wide films without adjustment
All C-Type sealers can seal narrow films as well as films up to the full length of the sealing bar. For example, the C820 seals film as narrow as 50mm (2") right up to 820mm (32"), with no mechanical adjustment needed.
Sealable materials
C-Type sealers can seal the following maximum material thicknesses:
- PE (polyethylene): 200 micron
- PP (polypropylene): 200 micron
- Multi-layer laminated film: 100 micron (depending on the type of lamination)
Features and benefits
- Strong, durable build: the extruded powder-coated aluminium base and arm add strength and safety.
- Consistent results: the sealing wire tension unit maintains a uniform 2.5mm seal.
- Optimum reliability: there are no mechanical switches to wear out.
- Adjustable sealing time: to suit different film types and thicknesses.
- Integral safety cutting knife: for neat, accurate trimming.
- Suitable for: 100-400 seals per shift.

How to use
- Connect: plug into a 230V supply. A yellow light shows the sealer is on standby
- Set: choose a sealing time from 1 to 10. Use lower settings for thin films and higher settings for thicker ones
- Position: lay the bag’s open end flat across the sealing wire
- Seal: close the sealing bar firmly. The light turns red while sealing, then back to yellow when it’s done
- Cool: keep the bar closed for 1-2 more seconds so the seal sets*
- Trim: if needed, slide the safety cutting knife along the bar to remove excess film
- Check: if the seal is weak, increase the sealing time. If the film melts, reduce it
*For best results, keep the sealing bar closed under pressure for an extra 1-2 seconds after the sealing cycle ends and the indicator light changes from red back to yellow.
Product FAQs
Which size of sealer should I choose?
Choose the machine size based on the largest bag you use in your packaging process. The C420 is the most compact option for smaller bags, while the C820 offers the most flexibility if you seal a wide variety of bag sizes.
Can a larger machine seal narrow bags?
Yes. The C820, for example, can seal film as narrow as 50mm (2") right up to 820mm (32") without any mechanical adjustment.
What materials can I seal?
Any thermoplastic (heat-sealable) film up to 200 micron total thickness can be sealed securely and airtight. This includes PE and PP films up to 200 micron and multi-layer laminated films up to 100 micron, depending on the type of lamination.
How do I adjust the sealer for different films?
Sealing time is adjusted steplessly with a turning knob, on a scale of 1 to 10. The sealer is time-controlled, so increasing the sealing time automatically raises the temperature; temperature cannot be set separately, and cooling time is not adjustable on the machine. We recommend testing on a sample of your film first, starting at a low setting and increasing it until you achieve a strong, clean seal.
What do the indicator lights mean?
When the light is off, the sealer is unplugged. A yellow light means it is plugged in and on standby. When you close the sealing bar, the light turns red to show sealing is in progress, then returns to yellow once the set time has elapsed.
Is the C-Type suitable for food handling?
The powder-coated C-Type is designed for general-purpose use across all industries. For food, pharmaceutical and some chemical applications, the silver anodised CI-Type is recommended, although its surface is not acid-proof.
