Heavy duty protection for flat items

These cardboard mailing envelopes are designed for flat items that must not bend or crease, such as books, catalogues, calendars, CDs and DVDs. The 350 gsm micro-flute corrugated board resists tearing and perforation, and reinforced corners add resistance to knocks and shocks in transit. The envelope carton adjusts in height up to 40mm, so it can handle slightly thicker flat items without moving to a box. A peel-off adhesive strip seals the flap without tape, and a pull-tab opens the self adhesive envelopes cleanly at the other end. Available in a range of sizes from 330 x 230mm up to 670 x 520mm (opening width x internal height), covering large letter, small parcel, medium parcel and large parcel mail formats.

Where do self adhesive cardboard envelopes work best?

These cardboard mailing envelopes suit despatch teams sending flat items that must not bend, with an expandable carton depth for slightly thicker contents.

  • Posting books, magazines and catalogues, where the 350 gsm micro-flute corrugated board resists tearing and perforation.
  • Sending brochures, calendars and printed presentations as an envelope carton that keeps contents flat in transit.
  • Despatching CDs and DVDs, where reinforced corners add resistance to knocks and shocks in handling.
  • Mixed-height flat mailings, where the adjustable depth up to 40mm takes thicker items without switching to a box.

Not for

  • Fragile, loose or bulky items that need cushioning on all sides. Use cardboard boxes for all-round protection.
  • Soft goods that don't need rigid board. Use a mailing bag where flexibility and low weight matter more than bend resistance.
  • Wet or outdoor storage. The Kraft paper and corrugated board aren't waterproof, so add outer protection where parcels face moisture.

Choose the right cardboard envelope

RAJA cardboard mailing envelopes are designed as an expandable carton for flat goods, with reinforced corners for added protection.

  • Choose these self adhesive envelopes for a 350 gsm micro-flute carton with reinforced corners, a peel-off strip and a pull-tab, adjustable up to 40mm.
  • Choose Do Not Bend envelopes when you want a flat 600 gsm board back with a pre-printed, PLEASE DO NOT BEND warning rather than an expandable carton.
  • Choose white cardboard envelopes when you want a flat white board mailer rather than this brown expandable carton.
  • Choose a tamper proof envelope when you want reusable locking-flaps rather than a peel-off adhesive strip.

FAQs

Do these need tape to close?

No. Each carton envelope has a peel-off adhesive strip on the flap, so orders seal without tape.

How thick can the contents be?

The carton adjusts in height up to 40mm, so it takes thicker flat items within that limit.

How do recipients open them?

A pull-tab opens the envelope cleanly, without cutting into the contents.

What are they designed for?

They're designed to take flat items that must not bend or crease, such as books, magazines, brochures, catalogues, calendars, CDs and DVDs.

Do the corners give extra protection?

Yes. Reinforced corners add resistance to knocks and shocks in the post.

It’s a good strong envelope, does the job well protecting my product inside it during transit.
