  • Optimised bulk pallet design for reliable paper feeding even in the most challenging work environment
  • Drops into your line, doesn't sit beside it - front or back loading lets the stand integrate directly into an existing production line from either side, with no repositioning or manual feeding required
  • Built for your highest-volume days - positioned above the Guardian 30 Floorstand for operations running the heaviest daily parcel counts, with the same 1.2 m/s automatic cutting and four pad widths behind it
  • Runs unattended for longer - easy-feed loading and multi-lingual controls mean fewer operator touches per shift, not just a faster learning curve
  • Wide range of paper qualities and base weight enabling block & brace to heavy cushioning applications

High volume packing, without the pause

The Ranpak® PadPak® Guardian 30 Cushioning Paper Converter - Bulk Stand is engineered for one job: keeping a high volume packing line fed with cushioning pads without interruption. Where output has to stay consistent hour after hour, the machine you build your line around matters as much as the pack itself.

At the centre of the unit is a converter that turns 1-ply and 2-ply fanfold paper into block, brace and cushioning pads on demand, cutting automatically at up to 1.2 m/s. What sets the Bulk Stand model apart is how it's fed: rather than working through individual packs, the stand takes a full bulk pallet of paper across four stacks in one load, with adhesive strips on the fanfold paper allowing one stack to be spliced onto the next. For operations running long shifts or back-to-back batches, that combination - bulk capacity plus splicing - translates directly into fewer stoppages and a steadier rate of pads per hour.

Front and back loading configurations mean the stand can be dropped into an existing production line from either side, so layout doesn't have to be redesigned around the machine. Combined with a digital touch screen, four pad width settings and multi-lingual controls, the Guardian 30 Bulk Stand suits teams in 3PL and e-commerce fulfilment, homeware, automotive and electronics spares, and mechanical or industrial components who need dependable cushioning output at scale.

How to use:

  • Power the converter from a standard 220V supply and turn it on at the touch screen
  • Load a bulk paper pallet (120x80cm) below the converter stand, offering up to 8,600 metres of paper
  • Feed each stack around the former, push through until it stops, then confirm on the touch screen - splicing adhesive strips on the fanfold paper let one stack run on directly from the last
  • Set the loading direction, front or back, to suit where the stand sits on your line
  • Select one of four pad width settings for the shipment being packed - a specialist can advise on the right setting for your products
  • Pick an operator mode - foot pedal, EDS, batch, preset or recipe - so the converter runs to a saved configuration automatically
  • Let the automatic cutter dispense pads at up to 1.2 m/s for as long as the batch requires
  • Store any adjustments as a preset or recipe so supervisors can recall the same setup for repeat orders

Fewer reloads, steadier output

Standard pack-fed converters need topping up regularly, which on a fast-moving line means either a second operator on standby or gaps in pad supply while paper is reloaded. The Bulk Stand addresses this by drawing from a full bulk pallet through one seamless paper supply equivalent to 24 packs of standard fanfold paper.

The paper itself - Premium Kraft or Recycled Kraft, is FSC-certified and PFAS free, so procurement and sustainability reporting are covered regardless of which grade a job calls for. Matching paper weight and pad thickness to the product being shipped also keeps material use, and cost per parcel, under control over a full production run.

Ideal applications:

  • 3PL and e-commerce operations running high parcel volumes where any gap in pad supply slows the whole line
  • Homeware and furnishing businesses packing varied, awkwardly-shaped items that call for different pad widths batch to batch
  • Automotive and electronics spares operations protecting precision parts through a fast-moving despatch process
  • Mechanical and industrial component suppliers integrating a converter directly into an existing production line via front or back loading

Product FAQs:

What paper grades work with the Bulk Stand?

The Bulk Stand runs two confirmed paper types, all 76 cm wide and supplied on bulk pallets:

  • Premium Kraft at 70 g/m² (1-ply)
  • Recycled at 90 g/m² (1-ply)

What's the footprint of the Bulk Stand unit?

The unit measures 107 x 127 x 179 cm and weighs 178 kg net. Unlike a mobile floorstand, it's designed to sit in one fixed position on the line, with the tray and loading direction (front or back) set to match the space available around it.

Does it take long to train operators on it?

The touch screen interface, easy-load button and multi-lingual support are built to get new operators comfortable quickly. Once a supervisor has saved the right settings as a preset or recipe, day-to-day operation is mostly a case of selecting the correct job rather than configuring the machine from scratch.

Bulk Stand or Floorstand - which one suits my line?

Both use the same converter core - 1.2 m/s automatic cutting, four pad widths, the same touch screen controls - so pad quality and speed are identical either way. The decision comes down to how paper is fed and where the machine sits: choose the Bulk Stand for a fixed position on a high volume line where minimising reloads matters most, or the Floorstand where the unit needs to move around a packing area on castors.
