Seals containers from air and water

Waterproof cloth tape is used for packaging, repairs and industrial fixing where the tape must conform to irregular surfaces, resist moisture and hold from -20°C to 60°C. The water-repellent polyester backing is laminated and polycoated, and the synthetic rubber adhesive bonds on contact to metal, glass, plastic, paper and board. It's used for sealing export containers, securing cables, general repairs and temporary fixings where a conformable, weather-resistant tape is needed. It's comparable to waterproof gaffer tape and is suitable for similar uses. Black finish, 130 micron film thickness.

Weight capacity under 20kg. Sold in packs of 24 rolls, priced per roll.

What is waterproof cloth tape best for?

It's the right choice when the tape needs to conform to irregular or curved surfaces, withstand moisture and temperature change, and hold a durable bond from -20°C to 60°C.

  • Sealing export consignments and containers against moisture and weather during sea or road transit.
  • Securing, binding and routing cables in industrial and workshop environments.
  • General repairs, temporary fixings and reinforcement on metal, glass and plastic surfaces.

Not for

  • Above 60°C: the synthetic rubber adhesive degrades in high heat; use a heat-rated tape for processes above this threshold.
  • Standard carton sealing for transit loads over 20kg: weight capacity is under 20kg; use heavy duty polypropylene tape for everyday box sealing.
  • UV-exposed outdoor applications: UV resistance isn't confirmed for this tape.

How to use

The synthetic rubber adhesive bonds on contact. Surface cleanliness determines how well the bond holds under load or weather exposure.

  • Clean the surface: Remove dust, grease and moisture from the surface before applying. Adhesive on a dirty or damp surface bonds weakly and may peel under load.
  • Cut to length: A dispenser is recommended to cut to the tape to length.
  • Conform to the surface: The polyester cloth backing is flexible enough to wrap around curved edges and irregular surfaces. Press firmly along the full length to ensure complete contact, particularly at edges and joins.
  • Apply at the right temperature: Apply at 15°C or above for initial tack; once bonded, the tape holds from -20°C to 60°C.
  • Store correctly: Store at 15–25°C below 65% humidity. Shelf life is 12 months from manufacture.

Choose the right tape

Right for moisture-resistant sealing and repairs from -20°C. If the carton sealing application is in standard dry-environment, polypropylene options are more cost-effective.

Frequently asked questions

Is this fabric adhesive tape waterproof?

The laminated polycoated polyester backing is water-repellent and weather resistant, which is why it's recommended for export consignments shipped by sea where moisture exposure is a risk.

What is waterproof cloth tape used for in warehouses and industrial settings?

This tape is used for cable management, securing and bundling, sealing containers against moisture, and temporary repairs to equipment and surfaces. The synthetic rubber adhesive bonds to metal, glass and plastic as well as paper and board.

What is the temperature range for this tape?

The minimum is -20°C and maximum is 60°C. This covers outdoor winter storage and most industrial environments, including cold chain operations where polypropylene backed options lose tack.

Will this tape stick to plastic and metal surfaces?

Yes, synthetic rubber adhesive bonds to metal, glass and plastic as well as paper and board, which is what makes this tape suited to cable management and general industrial repairs on mixed-material equipment.
