Strong and eco-responsible!
Recycled packaging tape made from 85% recycled polyester (PET) film for operations that need reliable carton sealing and to meet business sustainability goals. By opting for this eco-responsible alternative, customers can maintain their packaging effectiveness while reducing the demand for virgin resources. The use of recycled content does not compromise the effectiveness of this tape. The 19 micron PET backing has a hot melt adhesive that bonds instantly on contact with paper and board, perfect for high-volume conditions. The polyester outer layer adds to its durability against wear and tear, ideal for demanding applications. The tape surface carries a printed eco message, making sustainability visible on every sealed carton. Available in brown and transparent on 132m rolls, 48mm wide on a 76mm core. Weight capacity under 20kg.
Requires a dispenser to cut. Sold in packs, priced per roll.
What is this recycled packaging tape best for?
This recycled packaging tape is the right choice for operations with sustainability targets that need a standard-format carton sealing tape: same dispenser, same roll dimensions, same packing process, with 85% recycled PET film.
- Carton sealing in e-commerce, fulfilment and despatch operations with environmental KPIs.
- Operations where the printed eco message on the tape surface communicates sustainability commitment to end customers on every parcel.
- A direct like-for-like substitute for standard polyester or polypropylene tape on a 76mm dispenser, with no process change required.
- High-volume 132m rolls to reduce changeover frequency on busy packing lines.
Not for
- Cartons over 20kg: use a heavier-grade tape for loads exceeding this.
- Below 15°C: hot melt adhesive loses tack in cold conditions; do not apply below this threshold.
- UV-exposed outdoor applications: This tape is not UV resistant.
- Operations requiring kerbside recyclability: PET film tape is not recyclable in the kerbside paper stream; use self-adhesive paper tape where kerbside recyclability is required.
How to use
Hot melt adhesive bonds immediately on contact, so the same technique as standard polypropylene tape applies here.
- Check surface temperature: Apply at 15°C or above; below this threshold hot melt adhesive loses initial tack and seals may fail at the flap edge during transit.
- Load the dispenser: Fit the 76mm core roll into a pistol grip dispenser for consistent tension and clean cuts. The 132m roll length reduces changeover stops on high-volume lines.
- Seal the full carton seam: Apply with a 50mm overlap onto each carton face and press firmly along the full length to ensure complete contact at flap edges.
- Store correctly: Store at 15–25°C below 65% humidity. Shelf life is 6 months from manufacture; rotate stock on a first-in, first-out basis.

Frequently asked questions
What does 85% recycled content mean for this polyester packaging tape?
85% of the PET film is made from recycled polyester rather than virgin material, which reduces the demand for new petroleum-derived plastic without changing the tape's dimensions, core size or packing process.
Is this PET packaging tape kerbside recyclable?
No, the tape uses recycled PET content in its manufacture, but the sealed carton cannot be recycled at kerbside with the tape attached; PET film must go to specialist plastic film collection.
What is the printed eco message on the tape?
The tape surface carries a printed message indicating the recycled content and reads, made from 85% recycled plastics, making the sustainability credentials of the packaging visible to customers and recipients without any additional labelling.
Can this polyester packing tape replace standard polypropylene tape on the same dispenser?
Yes, the 76mm core and 48mm width are compatible with standard dispensers, so no process or equipment change is needed when switching from a standard polypropylene alternative.
