Multi-use and great value
RAJA masking tape is a general-purpose thin white masking tape for painting, decorating, masking and temporary bundling tasks at ambient temperatures. The paper backing conforms to curved surfaces and tears cleanly by hand; the rubber adhesive bonds on contact with painted surfaces, metal and plastic, and removes cleanly without residue when taken off within the recommended time. Available in four widths (19mm, 25mm, 38mm and 48mm) on 50m rolls, with a write-on surface that makes it useful for labelling and bundling as well as masking.
This masking tape multi pack has a weight capacity under 20kg. Not suitable for carton sealing.
What is masking tape best for?
It's the right choice for painting, decorating and precision masking tasks at room temperature where the tape needs to remove cleanly without marking the surface underneath.
- Masking painted walls, frames and trim before redecorating, where clean removal without residue is essential.
- Masking metal or plastic surfaces before spray painting in maintenance and light industrial applications.
- Temporary bundling, sealing and labelling where a write-on surface is useful for marking contents.
- Light creative and craft applications where a conformable, hand-tearable tape is needed.
Not for
- Sealing cardboard boxes for transit: masking tape adhesive isn't rated for carton loads; use polypropylene packaging tape instead.
- Surfaces left in direct UV exposure: UV exposure accelerates permanent adhesive bonding, and the tape will not remove cleanly from surfaces left in sunlight for extended periods.
- Applications requiring removal after more than 14 days: leave masking tape on for longer than 14 days and the rubber adhesive may bond permanently to the surface.
- Below 15°C: rubber adhesive loses initial tack in cold conditions; apply at room temperature only.
How to use
Apply at room temperature and remove promptly. Both are critical to getting clean, residue-free results.
- Prepare the surface: The surface must be clean, dry and free from dust or grease. Adhesive bonds less reliably to dirty surfaces.
- Apply at room temperature: Apply at 15°C or above. Natural rubber adhesive loses tack in cold conditions, so don't apply in unheated spaces in winter.
- Tear to length by hand: Tear at a sharp angle across the roll. The paper backing tears cleanly, no scissors or blade needed. Press the edge firmly to the surface to ensure a clean paint line.
- Remove within 14 days: Remove before the adhesive permanently bonds. For outdoor applications or surfaces in direct sunlight, remove as soon as the task is done as UV exposure accelerates bonding significantly.
- Store correctly: Keep unused rolls at 15–25°C with humidity below 65%. Shelf life is 12 months from manufacture; store away from heat sources and direct sunlight.

Choose the right tape
Right for general-purpose painting, masking and light bundling at ambient temperatures. If a 3M specification is required, or if the application is carton sealing, a different grade is needed.
- Choose this masking tape when painting, masking or bundling at ambient temperatures where cost-effective performance is the priority.
- Choose 3M Scotch masking tape when a 3M specification is required for procurement or quality assurance purposes.
Frequently asked questions
How long can masking tape be left on a surface before it won't come off cleanly?
Up to 14 days at room temperature away from UV light. In direct sunlight or elevated temperatures, remove within 24 hours as UV exposure permanently bonds natural rubber adhesive to most surfaces.
Can masking tape be used to seal a cardboard box?
No, masking tape adhesive isn't rated for carton sealing loads; use tape with a polypropylene backing for securing carton flaps in transit.
Is this thin white masking tape suitable for precision decorating?
Yes, the 19mm and 25mm widths suit precision line work around door frames and skirting boards; the paper backing conforms to curves and tears cleanly by hand.
What is the difference between RAJA masking tape and 3M Scotch masking tape?
Both are crepe paper masking tapes with natural rubber adhesive at comparable performance; choose 3M alternative where a 3M specification is required for procurement or quality management.
Which width should I choose for a masking tape multi pack?
19mm and 25mm suit detail and precision work; 38mm is better for broad flat runs; 48mm covers the widest areas fastest. All four widths are available in multi-pack formats.
