Packing Benches & Workstations

Revolutionise your warehouse workspace with our packing benches and workstations.

The packing bench is where your despatch process either flows or stalls. Set it up well and a packer can pick, fold, fill, weigh, label and seal without leaving the spot. Set it up badly and you lose a few seconds on every parcel, which turns into lost hours across a busy shift. We are the experts in optimising your workspaces and supply packing benches, packing stations, workstations anmd even adjustable mobile benches for warehouses, despatch bays and e-commerce fulfilment, from a single fixed bench through to fully modular packing stations with reel holders, shelving and bins built in.

Types of packing bench and packing workstaion

The range covers four broad needs. Fixed packing benches give you a sturdy, no-nonsense work surface for a permanent station. Height-adjustable benches suit shared stations and multi-shift teams, and help you meet manual handling and ergonomic requirements. Mobile packing stations on castors let you bring the station to the work rather than the work to the station, which is useful for seasonal peaks and changing floor plans. Modular packing stations start from a worktop and let you add reel arms, upper shelves, monitor mounts, bin rails and lighting as the role grows.

How to choose the right packing station

A few practical points worth checking before you order:

  • Load capacity. Work to the uniformly distributed load (UDL) rating, not the headline figure, and leave headroom for heavy outers.
  • Worktop size. Match the depth and width to your largest regular parcel, with room left for tape, labels and a scanner.
  • Reel bars. If you cut paper, bubble wrap or tape at the bench, an integrated reel holder takes most of the walking and reaching out of the job.
  • Storage. Upper shelves, bin rails and under-bench cupboards keep consumables to hand and the worktop clear.
  • Standing comfort. Pair a fixed bench with an anti-fatigue mat, or specify height adjustment, where packers stand for long stretches.

Frequently asked questions

What is a packing bench?

A packing bench, also called a packing station or packing table, is a workstation built for the pack and despatch stage of order fulfilment. It gives a packer one place to assemble the parcel, with the worktop, consumables and storage arranged to cut down on movement.

What is the difference between a packing bench and a packing table?

In practice the terms are used interchangeably. A packing table usually describes a plain work surface, while a packing bench or packing station tends to add reel bars, shelving and storage to support a full despatch workflow. RAJAPACK lists both under this category.

What height should a packing bench be?

Most packers work comfortably with the worktop at around elbow height, which is roughly 900mm to 1000mm for standing work. If the bench is shared across a team, or used for both seated and standing tasks, choose a height-adjustable model so each packer can set it to suit.

Can I order a bespoke or modular packing station?

Yes. The modular packing stations build up from a core worktop, so you can add reel arms, upper shelves, bin rails, monitor mounts and lighting to match the role. If you need a layout that is not listed, our team can visit and advise on a bespoke configuration.
