What are the different Courier Requirements?

DHL, DPD, and Hermes all have different carton and parcel requirements that we will expand upon below. Understanding where your own products sit within your chosen courier’s specifications will make choosing the correct cardboard box an easy task.

DPD

Each parcel you send through DPD will need to conform to the maximum weight limit of 31.5kg, and a maximum length of 1m. For DPD’s domestic services, the maximum girth (length+ width + height) should always be 230cm. That is a fixed limit regardless of parcel size. Each of our 4 cardboard boxes conform to DPD’s domestic size requirements while ensuring you don’t go over those fixed limits. Plus, the double wall corrugated cardboard is robust enough for the knocks and bumps of transit, which means you can rest assured your contents will reach their destination safely.

DHL

Available as single wall or double wall cardboard boxes, our DHL range are designed to fit their category requirements. Our economical single wall cardboard boxes can be used in their Box 2 to Box 7. If you need a more robust box for your larger items, our double wall brown cardboard boxes can be used from Box 4 to Box 7 categories. Each DHL category also has a maximum weight limit that you need to be aware of. However, rest assured that our boxes are able to sufficiently handle contents up to these limits:

Box 2 - 1.5kg / Box 3 - 3kg / Box 4 – 7kg / Box 5 – 12kg / Box 6 – 18kg / Box 7 – 25kg.

Hermes

This courier service features a strict 2450mm volume threshold that all businesses need to adhere to. For any company that sends a variety of products to customers, our range of double wall brown cardboard boxes are available in 6 different sizes, allowing you to send products like floor lamps to shorter products like toasters and kettles.

What else do you need?

Our range of packaging tapes can seal your box to ensure contents remain safe. Alternatively, our range of paper void fill can provide some eco-friendly protection. For an easy way to improve presentation, tissue paper is ideal.
