Innovative corrugated paper mailers
Wave Bag paper padded envelopes are a recyclable, padded mailing envelopes made from 95% recycled paper, designed for posting documents, small boxed goods and lighter fragile items. The outer material is 70 gsm water-resistant paper that helps keep contents dry, and a 45 gsm inner layer uses wave paper technology to cushion against knocks. Both layers are paper, so the whole envelope goes into standard paper recycling with no separation. A peel-and-seal strip closes the flap in one motion, and the lightweight build helps keep postage down. Available in brown or white. These padded mailing envelopes are available in multiple sizes ranging from 150 x 207.5mm up to 270 x 360mm (opening x internal height) covering letters to small parcel mail formats.
Sold and priced per pack.
Where do Wave Bag paper padded envelopes work best?
These paper padded envelopes suit e-commerce and mailroom benches sending lighter items that need cushioning and some protection from damp.
- Mailing documents, brochures and catalogues, where the paper padding reduces creasing and the water-resistant outer guards against moisture.
- Sending small, boxed goods and electronics, where two paper layers cushion without adding packing weight.
- Fast e-commerce despatch, where the peel-and-seal strip closes each envelope in one motion.
- Posting lighter fragile items, where the wave paper layer absorbs knocks in transit.
Not for
- Sharp or rigid items with points that can push through the wave paper layer. Use cardboard boxes with void fill instead.
- Flat items that must not bend, such as photos or certificates. Use rigid Do Not Bend envelopes for added protection through pre-printed message.
- Liquids or anything that can leak. Water resistance isn't the same as leak containment, so use sealed secondary packaging and a rigid outer.

FAQs
Can Wave Bag envelopes go straight into paper recycling?
Yes. These paper padded envelopes are all paper, so there is no bubble lining to separate; put them in standard paper recycling.
Do they protect against rain?
The 70 gsm outer paper is water-resistant, which helps keep contents dry through normal handling and transit. It's not a sealed, waterproof pack.
How do they differ from bubble-lined mailers?
Wave Bag envelopes cushion with a wave paper layer rather than plastic bubble film, so the whole envelope is recyclable as paper.
Are they suitable for fragile goods?
These padded postal bags suit lighter fragile items that need cushioning against knocks. For heavier or high-value fragile goods, use a rigid box with internal protection.
What colours are available?
Brown or white, so you can match the finish to your despatch operation.
