Economy polypropylene tape for general-purpose carton sealing in offices, post rooms and warehouses where a reliable, cost-effective tape is needed for lighter loads. The 25 micron film of this economy packaging tape has an acrylic adhesive that bonds on contact with paper and board, holds from -5°C to 60°C, and is UV-stable. Available in clear and brown, 48mm wide on 66m rolls. With a weight capacity under 20kg, this tape is ideal for light-duty warehouse packing applications.

What is economy packing tape best for?

Economy packing tape is the right choice when light weight low volume operations and for when cost-per-roll is the primary consideration without sacrificing basic performance in temperature or UV exposure.

Sealing light cartons under 20kg in post rooms, offices and lower-throughput despatch operations.
Environments with UV exposure, as the acrylic adhesive is UV-stable and won't yellow or lose tack in light.
Operations running both clear and brown tape from the same dispenser as both options share identical specs.

Not for

Cartons over 20kg: use the 32 micron heavy duty polypropylene tape for heavier loads.
Below -5°C: acrylic adhesive performs down to -5°C but not in deep-freeze environments.
Quiet packing environments: use RAJA low noise polypropylene tape where unwind noise is a concern.
Operations requiring kerbside recyclability: polypropylene film isn't kerbside recyclable; use self-adhesive paper tape instead.

How to use

The acrylic adhesive of the economy parcel tape bonds immediately on contact and maintains tack reliably between -5°C and 60°C.

Check surface temperature: Apply at -5°C or above. Acrylic adhesive holds tack across a wider range than hot melt, but below -5°C bond reliability cannot be guaranteed.
Load the dispenser: Fit the 76mm core roll into the recommended pistol grip dispenser. Consistent tape tension and clean cuts reduce wasted tape on high-volume lines.
Seal the full carton seam: Apply with a 50mm overlap onto each carton face and press firmly along the full length. Avoid partial contact as this can cause seal failure.
Store correctly: Store at 15–25°C below 65% humidity. Shelf life is 12 months from manufacture.
