Silent dispensing
RAJA low noise polypropylene tape for open-plan offices, shared packing areas and retail back rooms where standard tape unwind noise may cause issues. The 28 micron film uses a water-based acrylic adhesive with lower peel resistance than hot melt, which is what produces quiet unwind without reducing bond quality. This low noise packing tape is UV-stable and reliable from -5°C to 60°C. Available in clear and brown, 48mm wide on 66m and 100m rolls with a 76mm core. Weight capacity under 20kg.
Requires a dispenser to cut. Sold in packs of 36 rolls, priced per roll.
What is RAJA low noise packing tape best for?
This is the right low noise packing tape when standard polypropylene tape is too disruptive in the packing environment, and cartons are under 20kg.
- Open-plan offices, retail environments and shared workspaces where repeated tape-unwind noise is disruptive.
- Standard carton sealing under 20kg where the switch from noisy hot melt tape requires no change to dispenser or packing process.
- Environments with UV exposure or variable ambient temperatures where acrylic adhesive outperforms hot melt.
- Operations running both the 66m and 100m roll lengths from the same dispenser as both use the same 76mm core.
Not for
- Cartons over 20kg: use the heavy duty variant for heavier loads.
- Below -5°C: for deep-freeze despatch, use a specialist cold-chain tape.
- Operations requiring kerbside recyclability: polypropylene film isn't kerbside recyclable; opt for a paper alternative instead.
How to use
The acrylic adhesive bonds on contact at consistent tension. Maintaining even dispenser pressure is important, as over-stretching reduces contact area at the seal.
- Check surface temperature: Apply at -5°C or above; acrylic holds tack at lower ambient temperatures than hot melt, but bond reliability cannot be guaranteed below -5°C.
- Load the dispenser: Fit the 76mm core roll in a recomended pistol grip tape dispenser; a dispenser maintains consistent tension and produces a quieter, more controlled unwind.
- Seal the full carton seam: Apply with a 50mm overlap onto each carton face and press firmly. Avoid partial contact at flap edges as this can cause seal failure.
- Store correctly: Store at 15–25°C below 65% humidity. Shelf life is 12 months from manufacture.

Frequently asked questions
What makes this low noise packaging tape quieter than standard polypropylene tape?
Standard polypropylene tape uses hot melt adhesive, which has high peel resistance and snaps loudly on unwind. This tape uses acrylic adhesive with lower peel resistance, so it unwinds smoothly, even when using a dispenser.
Is the bond strength the same as standard polypropylene tape?
Yes. Peel resistance determines unwind noise, not seal quality; once applied to paper and board, acrylic adhesive produces a reliable seal within the stated temperature and weight range.
Is this low noise parcel tape suitable for use in offices or retail environments?
Yes, it's specifically designed for shared or open-plan environments where repeated tape unwind noise is a nuisance; it seals cartons up to 20kg reliably with no change needed to dispensers or packing process.
What is the difference between the 66m and 100m rolls?
Both are 48mm wide and 28 micron film on a 76mm core with the same adhesive; the 100m roll simply offers more tape per roll, reducing changeover frequency on busy packing lines.
